Growing up was so hard for me. I didn’t really know what kind of guy was perfect for me. I had a high school sweetheart that I dated for about 4 years. We split up my junior year of high school and I was so heartbroken. He was my first true love and I thought it was the end of the world. After we broke up, I would just sit in my bedroom and bawl my eyes out and I would not talk to many people. My mom finally took me out for a drive and had a long talk with me and let me know that I was going to be okay and that she was always going to be there for me through thick and thin. She helped me get my confidence back up.
After our talk, I started to hang out with a couple friends and my cousin. It was summer time. My cousin was in 4-H, so I decided I was going to help her out with her pigs at the fair to help me get things off my mind and to stay busy. Another thing I would do to stay busy was to go to the public pool and layout a block away from my house. One day I was walking home from the pool by myself and a jeep went by me as I was walking home. One window was rolled down with a guys head poked out looking at me. he proceeded to yell “Hey baby, you need a ride?” I then just ignored him and continued to walk home. I get home and I looked at my phone and I have this random text message from someone I don’t even know. The text read “Hey.” I messaged the person back all confused asking “who is this?” You would think they would tell you their name. Nope. They messaged back saying “This is the guy who just asked if you needed a ride.” I was so scared and really confused on how he got my number at this point. I then asked him how he got my number and what his name was. Come to find out, we had a mutual friend named Roger. Roger was with him when all of this went down and he gave him my number. The guys name is Alex. We started to talk for awhile through text and asked each other questions to get to know one another more. I at the time just was looking to be friends since I just got out of this serious relationship not too long ago. I honestly was scared thinking about getting in another serious relationship because I didn’t want to be heartbroken again. He kept messaging me to hang out and I would always tell him that I was busy at the fair with my cousin (which I really was). Next thing I know he shows up at the fair waiting until I was free to hang out. He was always doing anything and everything to get time with me. So finally, I gave him a chance to just take me on a date. So we went to the movies one Saturday night and then out to eat. I then realized that he was such a sweet, caring and nice guy. I had so much fun on that date and I just wanted to go on another one. so we did. and after that we started dating. I was trusting my instincts and my heart. Lucky for me it all worked out this time.
Now we have been together for 8 years and now married for 3 years. So crazy! We also have 3 beautiful little girls, ages 4, 2 and 9 months old. We bought our first home in November 2018. We have started a beautiful life together. Life gets crazy and hectic most days but I would not change any of it for the world. There are lots and lots of ups and downs, but we find ways to work around all of them and continue to love, support and comfort each other everyday. We definitely still have lots to learn along the way. Our journey is just beginning and I am so excited to see where life takes us. We both have dreams and goals and we are excited to reach those goals.
